FESTIVAL PROOF MAKEUP

Braving the mosh pits of your favourite festivals and breaking out the daggiest dance moves you’ve got requires guts and most importantly long-lasting, budge-proof makeup! It may sound impossible, but festival proofing your makeup is a lot easier than you think.

Festival Proof Makeup

Festival proof makeup means it has to last from the first set to the last act. It needs to be sweat proof and withstand hours of dancing. There are a few simple things that we find help our makeup to last from am to pm on all occasions, things that you probably already do.

Prep and Prime | If you have oily/ combination skin or find that your makeup tends to do a disappearing act by lunch time, then priming your skin first is important. Something like the Benefit POREfessional: Matte Rescue is perfect. The mattifying gel absorbs excess oils which means your makeup won’t be slipping and sliding anywhere.

Powder | Glowy and dewy is what we always strive for, and for something like a music festival, that lit from within glow is even more #goals. Now, your’e probably reading this, confused then as to why our third tip for festival proofing your makeup is ‘Powder’. While you want that glow, dusting some powder onto your T-zone will keep excessive sheen at bay and help set your base. We like to use transparent powders and tend to apply it along our T-zone and over areas we’ve concealed. Our go to is either the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder or William Pro’s Zero powder, both are light-weight so you won’t feel like you’ve caked on a truck load of product.

Set | An extra step to lock in your makeup is a spritz of a setting spray. We find that fixing mists also add to a glowy finish. Another option is to use a setting spray to dampen your makeup sponge instead of plain H2O, but a few sprtiz after you’ve applied all your makeup will also lock your brows and eye makeup in place.

Waterproof | This is a biggie. Panda eyes are not a good luck on anyone, so have
a waterproof liner and mascara at hand.

Matte | Matte finishes have better longevity than glossy formulas, so it’s a no-brainer choice for a day at a music festival. With so many headline acts to catch and all the dancing that is bound to ensue, the last thing you want to be doing is re-applying countless coats of your lippie.
