They’re what we like to call the ‘Cheat Sheet’ to fresh and hydrated skin. Sheet masks are at the forefront of the beauty world at the moment and we couldn’t be happier. We’ve been using sheet masks for almost 3 years now, and we still can’t get enough of them. The biggest draw card for us is how convenient they are. Ain’t nobody got time (or money) for frequent trips to the Esthetician, which is why we think sheet masks have gained such a cult following. They give you that post facial glow from the comfort of your own home and pyjamas!
We’ve recently been trying out the TheLavicos Nutrition Hydro Gel Mask*. Usually, sheet masks are designed to address a specific skin concern, the most common being dullness and wrinkles. This gel mask contains whitening and anti-wrinkle friendly ingredients such as licorice and ginger which contain antioxidants and encourage skin rejuvenation. We can’t attest to it’s anti-wrinkle properties, but we definitely felt that our skin looked a lot brighter afterwards.
For us, we find that it takes around an hour for our skin to absorb and suck dry the serum from this mask. We do have dry skin, so those with combination to oily skin may need to keep the mask on for longer. After using the mask, our skin feels and looks visibly more hydrated and plumped. In fact, we find that our makeup sits a lot better on our skin the following day.
With sensitive skin, we are always cautious when trying our Asian skincare for the first time as they can often have ingredients that are a bit stronger or more concentrated, particularly when it comes to those that are aimed at brightening. Luckily for us, this gel mask did not tick our skin off. Overall, we definitely recommend this mask to any face mask addicts and those keen to try them out for the first time.
Pro tip: Don’t can the sachet that the sheet mask comes in. There is usually quite a lot of product leftover, so save it for the next day to massage into your skin, or use it on your decolletage and neck.
