Korean and more broadly, Asian skincare are renowned for their innovative list of ingredients. Perhaps one of the most common ingredient spotted on the back of Asian skincare bottles, this one included, is ginseng.
Of course the words “anti-wrinkle” always pique our curiosity, but it was the word “whitening” on *Hansaeng Cosmetic’s Rin Bi-gyeol Yun Emulsion that caught our eye. Now, we’re fans of whitening products, not to lighten our skin, but to reduce hyper-pigmentation. We do have some uneven skin tone, so we are partial to the odd whitening product.Having only tried the emulsion for a short period of time, we can’t say whether it really delivers on it’s promises of anti-wrinkle and whitening. Although we have noticed some very subtle lightning of scarring on our cheeks, but this may be down to one of the handful of products we’re also using as part of our skin regime. However, this product does contain a host of ingredients that are well sought after in beauty circles including ginseng which has been used for centuries. When it comes to the science of skincare, we’re far from experts, but you only need to do a quick Google search to see that it has countless skin benefits. Rich in vitamins and minerals, ginseng is anti-inflammatory. The herb is often found in anti-aging products due to its abilities to brighten the skin’s complexion and increase tone by encouraging collagen production and regeneration of skin cells. The emulsion is light and comfortable on the skin. It absorbs quite quickly into the skin, but despite this, we find it to be quite hydrating for our dry skin. If your’e following the Korean skincare steps, then you’d apply this after your essence which allows your skin to drink up the emulsion more effectively.
In the next few months, we’re definitely curious to see whether this product will live up to its claims. We may have to tweak our current routine, so that we can see the true effects of the emulsion in whitening without interference from other whitening products. But from our impressions so far, it’s safe to say that we have high hopes!
