‘Tis the season for berry lips.

Some of our most reached for lipsticks are of the berry variety. Whether it be a chilly July or a sunny day in January, we’ve always got a berry lip product floating somewhere at the bottom of our makeup bag. One of our all time favourites is Revlon’s Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie, which our mum has nicked and put into her handbag! While in Summer and Spring we like lip products with more of a sheer, light weight formulation, for Winter, we want something that will stick around without the need to re-apply every second. A recent discovery of ours that ticks this box isn’t really a new launch, but we had to share it with you. Revlon’s ColorStay Moisture Stain in India Intrigue* is our current L-O-V-E. Yep, another Revlon lippie, but what can we say? Revlon never ceases to amaze us in the lip department.

We saw these when they first dropped in stores a while back, but if you read our recent 1 Lipstick 3 Ways post, you’ll know that our lipstick stash does not need adding to. So being the responsible adults we were, we decided to save our dollars and step away from the stand. Fast forward to now, and we wish we had not been so sensible! These moisture stains are just what we look for in a staple winter lip. The name can be slightly confusing as you wouldn’t usually put the 2 words lip stain and moisture together. For us, we’ve always thought stains to be slightly drying. But it’s safe to say that Revlon has successfully brought these 2 words together. The ColorStay Moisture stain is weightless and comfortable to wear. The creamy consistency and flat dofer applicator makes it easy to apply the product evenly and to build up the highly pigmented gloss to your heart’s desire. We were blown away by how long it lasts. After a few hours, the gloss dries down, leaving a nice stain that you can either wear as is, top up with more of the stain or freshen up with a lip balm. We’ll definitely be getting plenty of mileage out of this in the next few months. Hands off mum!

  1. This colour looks great on you! My go to lip in the Winter is Wine-Red! I like the E.L.F Matte sticks. Slim, light weight and they do not make my lips feel super dry like most matte’s do. Great post! Tal xo

      1. I love ELF’s Wine & Dash of Pink. I always have the Wine stick in my purse and now that it’s summer in Ontario the Dash of Pink is in constant rotation!
